We consider this location to be idyllic. Two and a half acres set in a garden environment surrounded by trees. A small island compliments the beauty that unfolds as you first set eyes on it. All swims are large and on flat banks, plenty of features to aim for, no snags, no annoying American catfish that you hear about so often in France. Just peace, tranquillity and great fishing.

The lake itself, we think was built some thirty years ago and designed to the wishes of its past owner, an old man who adored fish and fishing. Depths go from the shallow 18 inches off the house end, perfect for summer stalking, to 12 feet a third of the way out from the dam end. The bottom is as stated, snag free with very little silt and being relatively flat over much of the area. A boat house compliments the 1950s English type appeal of this lake together with a boat should you require it.

Stocking here has been completed from home grown (Personal-best-angling) catfish 55 lbs plus in weight. Heavily stocked you shouldn't go short of a run or two from these beauties. Carp come in the shape and form of commons, mirrors and the odd leather. Again, heavily stocked you will catch anything from the odd home bred two pounder to many of the doubles, twenties or thirties present and right up to 43 pounds plus.

Accommodation

Over the years and as we enter our 16th season here in France, we have been approached probably over one hundred times by various lake owners who would like us to market their lake and carp fishing. In the early years we would check out these venues but it was always the same, they simply did not hit the standard our clients required. Either stocking levels fell far short of acceptable, the accommodation was well below the standard necessary or the setting was just not good enough. Sometimes it was all three. Sometimes it was the owner who thought that carp fishing was a fast way of making money and we were quick to realise that in some cases these people had very little angling experience or indeed, never fished in their lives. Our operation demands complete knowledge of angling, fisheries management and integrity towards its customers. On this basis we decided that as it was our name at risk we could not afford to take on venues that we considered to be below the high standards we set ourselves.

Doug and Sue purchased this superb property in October 2004 and completed their initial move from the U.K. to France around the same time. Not wanting to rush things and knowing a proper long term venture takes time, he decided not to open this lake until he himself had it to the standard he required. No lies regard stocking (as we have seen so many times in the past), no half measures with accommodation, the most beautiful of settings, and the most tranquil of two and a half acre lakes.
