Forty miles south of Limoges is where you find us. Every mile you undertake is a mile due south of Great Britain (and therefore almosr always warmer!)

By Road

There are channel ferry ports in England at Poole, Southampton, Portsmouth and Dover and you can choose your French destination port of either St Malo, Cherborg, Roscoff, Caen, Le Harve or Calais.The choice of ferry route depends on where you live and how you wish to undertake it. Go to the On-line channel ferry booking website to find the cheapest crossing price and book on-line.

Directions to Kingfisher Pools ( La Folie is just 15 miles south )

Once in France, head for Paris and join the ringroad that surrounds the city.

From the ringroad, join the A6, which after a short distance will lead into the A10.

On the A10, Follow the signs to Orleans and at Orleans, join the A71.

On the A71, follow the signs towards Vierzon and the join the A20.

On the A20, follow the signs to Limoges and then turn right onto the N21.

Stay on the N21 and follow the signs to Perigueux, passing through Aixe sur Vienne, Chalus and La Coquille. When you come to the Mavaleix crossroads, turn right onto the D98.. Do not turn left before you reach St. Jory!

Many of our clients prefer to take the trip the leisurely way by leaving a day early and having a hotel room for the night on route. Some prefer the direct approach and undertake the trip in one go, (it’s about 11.5 hours from London) Dover / Calais being the shortest and least expensive crossing. Others prefer a night crossing taking a cabin on board the ferry and making the most of the ships amenities.

By Air

The latest method of travel to become popular with the guests of Personal Best Angling is flying with Ryanair from Stansted to Limoges. In many cases this is the quickest and cheapest way. To book a flight with Ryanair, please visit their website at http://www.ryanair.com.

Average cost per flight (duration one hour fifteen minutes) is Ł90.00 per person, car rental is just 10 metres outside the terminal building (cost approx Ł170.00 per week) and then a forty minute drive to reach Kingfisher Pools. To book a car, please visit the Eurocar website at http://www.europcar.com.

To find us from Limoges aiport, follow the signs to Limoges, and then the A20 then follow the directions given above.

Transporting equipment

Worried about all that luggage and tackle? Don’t be, Ryanair charge just Ł15.00 each way for carriage of sports equipment whatever the weight and if that’s not enough we have tackle rental packages (from just Ł45.00) So leave the bedchairs, unhooking mats, bivvies at home. We deliver these lakeside along with everything else you may want. It’s all here ready and waiting for you including your bait requirements! So whichever way you choose, it’s all part of your holiday!
